Teach students in need and get volunteer hours.
Registration for the Spring 2024 semester is closed.
Tutors will work in small groups of 1-2 students one day a week for 1 hour each class via Google Meets. Our fall program will run from the week of January 15th to the week of May 31st (19 weeks). Class resources and lesson plans are provided. You may teach more than one class.
The fall will be focused on helping students stay on pace with their classes by helping with homework, and strengthening concepts learned in class.
All tutors must attend a virtual mandatory training session before starting tutoring. During the semester, tutors are expected to attend all classes in a timely manner and have proper communication with parents if they are unable to attend. In addition, tutors will be required to complete weekly reflections and update class attendance, which will be discussed during the training.
By volunteering at Virtual Tutoring SF, not only do you provide students the help they need for success in class, you also provide families with assurance and take the worry off of them knowing that their child is going to succeed. Hear what parents have to say about tutors like you!
"Our tutor responds quick to any questions I as a parent may have. She is assertive and has great power point slides that provide sample math questions which make it fun and help my child feel engaged. Our tutor goes above and beyond and I'm happy that we are aligned on the same goals for my student!"
"My child is able to excel in math and get more practice with our tutor when she's unclear on topics from school."
